How to get OpenAI API Key?

Follow steps below to get the GoOpenAI API Key:

Prerequisites → An OpenAI Account & Appy Pie Chatbot Account.

Step 1 :  Go to Open AI API Key

Step 2 : If you have don’t have an OpenAI Account then go ahead and authenticate through sign up and complete the sign process.

Step 3 :  Once your log-in you will see the below screen. Click on “Create new secret Key”.

Step 4 : Enter a Name for your key and click on “Create Secret Key”.

Step 5 :  On next screen you will get the secret key. Just copy this Secret Key and paste it inside the GPT node textbox where it is requested on Appy Pie Chatbot Editor.

Hurray! Now you can use the AI Chatbot by deploying it through the setup section.

Note - It's important to note that you can always monitor your token usage in the OpenAI API dashboard

Important Info - Please note that the API is in free plan and since OpenAI offers a limited free tier for their API usage, which includes 5,000 tokens per month. Once you exceed the free limit of 5,000 tokens per month, your API requests will be rejected until the beginning of the next month when your token quota is reset.

Adding billing information for usage beyond free limit

To add payment information to your OpenAI account, please follow these steps:

• Log in to your OpenAI account at Open AI.

• Click on your account name in the top right corner of the page, and select "Billing" from the drop-down menu.

• Click the "Add Payment Method" button.

• Enter your billing information, including your name, address, and credit card details. You can also choose to use a PayPal account.

• Click the "Add Payment Method" button to save your information.

• Once you have added your payment information, you can purchase additional tokens through the OpenAI API dashboard. To do so, select the API you want to use, specify the number of tokens you need, and click the "Purchase Tokens" button. You will be prompted to confirm the purchase and charged for the additional tokens based on the pricing for that API.
